Climate of state Kansas

Kansas has a continental climate which is highly changeable. The average mean temperature is 55°F (13°C). The normal annual precipitation ranges from 40 inches (101.6 cm) in the southeast to 16 inches (40.6 cm) in the west and the overall annual precipitation for the state averages 27 inches (68.6 cm)., The annual mean snowfall ranges from about 36 inches (91.4 cm) in the extreme northwest to less than 11 inches (27.9 cm) in the far southeast. Tornadoes are fairly common phenomenon in this part of the US.
